However, this only works if our AIS signal is received by a land-based station and only if we are close to shore, as only base stations can transmit our position data to various internet platforms. So the positions displayed there may be outdated depending on when a base station last received us.

We also try to update our coordinates here on sailingmabul.com in the sidebar regularly (manually). In the future this will hopefully be automated.
